Hi kids (and young adults). This is Deep Dad bringing you more subversive independent thinking from the outer fringes of society.
I have a point to make today regarding public education, but first I'd like to share a little story with you:Once upon a time I was sitting in my favorite greasy spoon restaraunt. I told the waitress I want french fries and a cheeseburger. 10 minutes later my cheeseburger arrived along with a huge overflowing plate of completely burnt, unedible french fries. As she placed the fries down in front of me she smiled proudly and said "The french fries got burnt so we gave you EXTRA." I said, "Thank you maam, if there's anything I like more than bad food its ALOT OF IT." Needless to say, the rest of my dining experience did not go well, but I believe she got the point.
Whenever someone on this forum submits a poorly written post about how fucked up public school is, the other participants point out his/her lack of good writing skills and say "See?! You need more public schooling!!" But chances are that these semi-illiterate posters are ALREADY the products of the public school system. What good is another year or two of public school for these individuals if the public school has been completely ineffective at teaching them good writing skills for the last 10 or 11 years? If there's anything better than a bad education its ALOT OF IT - isn't that what we're telling these kids?
None.
