- Kids -About IQ Tests...
I have an IQ of 161. Does that make me smarter than many of you? No it does not. Why? Because IQ tests are not measures of intelligence, they are measures of complexity. Society/publicity has exagerated the meaning of IQ tests. What does compexity mean? It is simple; complexity is the ability to percieve things/situations in a complex manner. Some individuals think in more complex ways than others, it does not mean they are smarter. It only means that their brains think and carry out instructions in a different, "more complex", way. IQ tests are a sham. You can not test everyone on this planet by an IQ test. You have to take into consideration their culture, belief/value system, education systems, age, and basic standard of life (according to them that is, not everyone else). An example: Just because someone from say a secluded tribe in Africa does not know what a car is or television, it does not mean that he/she is not smart. I means that he/she may have never seen or learnt of such a thing. My point, and I do have one, is that even though I have a high score on an IQ test, it does not make me more intelligent than many others. You may be wondering why I took an IQ test if I don't believe in them in the first place. Well, it was not my decision. Some particular people that I was "smart", so they had me do a test a few years back. I am now 22 and have been asked to do another one, but I have declined. Why? Because I do not care if some "proffessionals" think I am "smart"; they should be spending all that money on educational systems around the world instead of probing into the heads of their so called "geniuses", just to prove that that particular individual is intelligent. We are all intelligent; it just depends on how you use that intelligence and if you continue to "feed" your brain throughout your entire life. That is my message on IQ tests. Thankyou. Take care. None.
