: Question # 1 - how many kids do *you* have. I guess none. If I guessed wrong, then, well, its judgemental people with closed minds like you that ought to think twice before deciding to become a parent.: Kids *like* to eat that crap, really. All she said (paraphrasing) was "your kids might not die if they eat at McD's once and a while, even if it is crappy food", which seems perfectly rational to me. I have a son, 9, who has not eaten a vegetable since he was 18mos old, and it's not because I don't encourage him to, he just won't. I eat a burger about as often as I clean my desk, and guess what, sometimes I *like* it, nyah, nyah....I don't think that makes me a bad person, so there.
If you been reading these postings at all you should realize that that is exactly the danger.
Children will$ like$ Mcdonalds. Everytime you take them there they'sll like it more. Very expert psychoadvertising quack types are paid good money to ensure they love it. Everytime you take thme there you subject them to the elaborate marketing strategies designed to turn your kid into a fast food addict. Chidlren can be conditioned think anything is normal and "good". a little complacency or role modelling by parents coupled with the bright cheery atmosphere and play pen at mcdonalds leaves them...well without much defence.
As a parent you are responsible for indicating what you think is good or bad and why to your kids. I recommend youDo take your kid to mcdonalds with a lunchbag of healthy and tastey food(if they don't like vega\etables don't use them, you have to try to be at least as clever as the marketeers at mcdonalds). Point out all the obese unhealthy people , tell them about how McD's is trying to trick them...give them a sense that not everyone is out for their best interests but that you are...they'll thank you for it later..when they see the whole picture. You may not be a bad parent...are you a good one?
