religion in public schools; why is it so biased??

I attend a public high school, in BC, and it is heavily populated by christians. I am of an earth based religion (have been all my life), an I fand it unnerving to be told to take off religious symbols, when Christains, and other majority faith groups, are prided on wearing theirs. Why is this??
And on another religious tolerance topic, has anyone heard of Bob Barr??? I have, many times. Reknowned for his biased opinions and anti-paganistic views. He recently tried to have Wiccans banned from practicing on military bases. Any thoughts on this one??
