That's the biggest load of cow dung I've read in a long time. Cows in slaughterhouses are abused from the moment they're beaten and electric-prodded onto trucks and trains, then transported in cramped conditions without food or water, then beaten or prodded off these vehicles, beaten and prodded by the men who work the slaughterhouses, where finally amid the stench of blood in the air they're shot with bolts or bullets in the head -- and given the fast pace of operations, they may or may not be stunned -- then finally they have their throats slit. How humane! Wish we could all die like that, right? You also neglected to mention downer cows, who are so weak or crippled that they are dragged off to the side, despite their pain, and left to die a slow death. How dare you lie about so such monstrous cruelty?

As for meat being healthy, while it may be high in protein, it's also high in fat and cholesterol, as well as the growth hormones, antibiotics, and other chemical junk they pump into cows to fatten them up and keep them alive under the abusive factory farm conditions.

As for your asinine argument that there are no healthy vegetarians, I happen to be a very healthy vegan. I'm a long-distance swimmer and scuba diver, and I haven't eaten meat in over 15 years (which would explain why my cholesterol level is in the 120's). My wife, also a vegan, is a runner and ice skater. We both exercise vigorously five days a week, with weights and aerobics; how about you?

You are either ignorant, a liar, or both. Here's a list of famous vegetarian athletes to refute your baseless statements. Enjoy.
