how we got the ten comandments...

Being jewish, I heard the story a long time ago as to how we got the ten comandments...
At first, God went to the Egyptians and asked the if they wanted comandments, but the Egyptians responded that they were too busy making pyramids and sphinxes and such to bother with comandments.
Then God approached the Romans, and asked if they would like comandments, and they responded that they were too busy also, what with taking over all of Europe and making an intricate road system to all their territories.
So then God went to the Jews and asked Moses if they wanted comanments and Moses asked how much they were. God said they were free and Moses said, "will take ten"
