: Then why do history books portray FDR as heroic when he was devoutly anti-capitalist? Again I think youre confusing the two.When I was younger and learned about FDR I thought the man was an outstanding Socialist and thought it very strange that:
1. the whole exercise took place in the US
2. the "Market", or rather the plutocracy of rich bastards, rolled back the whole the damn thing
Then I realised that FDR was giving capitalism a hand not actively trying to undermine it.
