:: It's really not a question of being free from capitalists but rather a visceral envy on the part of Liberals/Socialists/Communists/Greens towards people more able then they themselves are. There are some people who have the capacity to lead, create, take risks and if they fail, try again. Since not every person has this capacity not all persons will be rewarded to the same degree.Same old thing, isn't it Frenchy? The disparity between people is a fact these pro-revolutionaries are relunctant to accept. People have differing levels of ability and those that have less often resent those that have more. These sentiments have permeated every historical age and are ingrained in every culture. Robin Hood lives.
Parasites that advocate revolution would feed off the suffering of those people they ostensibly serve. Man has a greedy, selfish and envious heart. This applies to every layer of society.
Do you agree that those that have great ability are morally wrong to exploit their gifts only for their selfish interests and those that have lesser ability are morally wrong to envy the good fortunes of others? I do, but I think that any effort to improve humanity ought to start with each man working on his own heart. Implementing and forcing other men to altruism through revolution, upheaval, and the codification of these principles into law is only bypassing the true solution.
This issue, as all others I engage myself in point to the failings of man and his heart. Personally, I find the most vocal opponents of capitalism to be exactly as you described - viserally envious of those who achieve more. The main goal of liberism is to create equality where none is possible. To ignore the inherent differences in people will defeat their cause because after the revolution, those differences will again be manifested - only this time, they will be dressed in some other cloak.
I would also suggest that to ignore the obvious unchecked greed and corruption that can flourish in a capitaistic system is to suggest that it is a perfect system. It is not, of course, but I have such a difficult time with folks who see an economic theory as capable of working as they conveniently overlook the depravity of man as it would apply to their pet project. They overlook the obvious successes of this system to create wealth and raise the living standards of all who are engaged in it.
: Liberals/Socialists/Communists/Greens know deep down that they will always be second fiddle to the entrepreuner.

: McSpotlight: Isn't that a bit of a generalization?
What is a massive generalization is placing one's hope in a bloody revolutuion and assuming that upheaval is better for people than this system. I dare say that Barry doesn't get one half of one single, bloody percentage point in a vote on this issue. You want to defend him too? Go ahead and vote for him but don't speak of other people's generalizing in any disparging manner. The Liberals/Socialists/Communists/Greens that Frenchy speaks of (which includes you) are obviously frustrated, not having the slightest chance of winning elections in this country, they place their hopes in war and upheaval to accomplish their manifestly unpopular views. It is elitism in the strongest, clearest sense of the word to assume one knows better than 99.5% of the rest of the population. It is a massive generalization to think your pitiful minority knows better than us.
