: The masses are eager to believe that a free lunch is available.SDF: This is true only of those who draw upon the example of financial investors, who in fact gain a "free lunch" from the labor of others.
: It's the mechanism behind Lottery fever.
SDF: No, that's called "desperation".
: If your ship doesn't come in via a hot lottery ticket, perhaps this politician promising you a shiny new utopia will do as well.
SDF: Since nobody is looking to politicians for anything besides a continuation of the status quo, perhaps this says more about Frenchy's inner psychic nightmare than anything else.
Never mind that the politician is appealing to the ignorance of the masses, it's worked before and it'll work again. Free health care. Social security and general assistance, not to mention day care centers; all free. All we need to do is tax the corporations, and cut off welfare to the same corporations.
SDF: Since corporations get plenty of welfare today, we can in fact say that something is gotten for free today, and not by the working class.
: It's the sort of rhetoric that appeals to the slave mentality,
SDF: The thing skipped over in the above troll rant is the matter of who, today, is a slave to whom, that causes this "slave mentality" that is such an alleged boon to these fictional politicians of Frenchy's imagination, all of them doubtless promising utopia.
None.
