: Which brings me to Gee's idiotic expression 'effective demand.'

My expression? Apart from whatever satisfaction you may gain from pairing my moniker with the word "idiotic" you are inaccurately atrributing the phrase. Its a well worn economic term.

: 'Effective' demand seems to somehow belittle or negate ineffective demand.

Nonsense. it simply describes what was actually 'demanded' in the context of an exchange of things of mutual value. It doesnt demean anything.

: 'Effective' demand likewise censors anecdotes from this debate board. It edits them right out. This whole debate about wealth and poverty on the internet effectively muzzles those who are best qualified to talk about poverty.

Are they? Why that assumption? That ebing poor means ones thoughts on the state are more accurate and more relavent. Its like the mistake of asking the biggest guy in the gym for tips - he probably just is big anway. Someone poor may be the best qualified or he may not - but being poor doesnt mean one is the best qualified by 'virtue' of being poor. Ask Prince Charles about being rich - is he so well qualified?
