Maybe it depends on whose doing the starving. If a serious crash thrusts "middle" class America into precarious existence - watch out. It could get very ugly. Naturally those in power will try to channel rage (and there will be plenty) in the direction of a State Capitalist dictatorship to avoid a socialist threat to their position of relative privilege. As things stand now, they would very likely accomplish this disaster.
