Get a clue. No one here is defending Maoist China, and no one is defedning stalinist Russia, and the most I will say about post-Stalin Soviet Union is that they did some thinsg right and others wrong. please try and note the mdoels that teh socialists on this board are defending. The late great Red Deathy defended none at all, he was a perfectionist who held out for an ideal of socialism that had never been achieved. Me, I don't go so far; my favorite models of socialism are Daniel Ortega, Thomas Sankara, the Kerala communists, scandinavia, &c. "Democratic communsim" or "democratic socialism" in other words. SDF, as far as I can tell, supports the Sandinistas and Allende but mainly is in favor of the Green ideology. I don't knwo what Quincunx believes, but i'm sure he'll tell you if you ask nicely.

Does that make it clear enough? Why keep beating a dead horse that we buried long ago? The Maoists weren't teh mdoel of communsim taht we talk about when we talk about communism, so what the hell sueful purpose doe sit serve to talk about it?
