I was told this was "the will of the people". Have I been
bamboozled? Looks to me like selective looting, a difference
only in degree and not substance.
So I must conclude that a market economy won't work so it
must be "well ordered" by those in the know.

breaking them into little pieces as ordained by "the will
of the people"?

Don't get me wrong. I think 'the will of the people' is just
a bad con to convince Joe Six Pack [and all the other little Joes]
