: I would think that most 'mentally challenged' people might be rather tired of all that 'special, enriching' care. I've personally known people respopnsible for administering said care; I certainly would not like to be at their tender mercies. They are quite 'left-wing' in their beliefs, being all good union members. They also have little or no respect for their charges, treating them like children - or worse. Such is the nature of a master/slave relationship.There is an alarming tendency to 'care' for the less able by essentially segregating them from the more able, coccooning them in a safe house supplied with goods made by those people with whom their relationship has been banished.
Or by making the affectation of inclusiveness by handing out 'charity jobs' which are not valued by people for what productive values they offer, but are given as alms to create an illusion of such. I am second guessing RD (as the most consistent socialist here), but I think he would find this practice as disgusting as I do. Its an insult.
Similar to the parent allowing a 3 year old child to pretend to vacuum the carpet with a plastic toy, except in this case there is no leading up to the day the practicing of skill become the productive use of that skill.
(note, in my experience even the child gets far more joy and esteem out of using the real vacuum on low power, or a hand held one, and actually doing something useful with it)
