I just thought it was ironic

Of course your string of logic is flawless, except that neither I nor the article were arguing that "he lies always". If I gave that impression I apologize. Perhaps I should have posted the article as an original post instead of as a follow up to your earlier recommendation of Said. (I just thought it was ironic that this story broke just as Said was being recommended to me.)

For what it's worth, I still intend to read Culture and Imperialism and judge it on its own merit.
