>This is unfair and demonstrates an unwillingness to even consider a position other than your own but never the less we will proceed...
: : If Libertarian capitalists like Gee are to be true to the enlightenment dream they claim they must forsake the sanctifying propertarianism they now espouse and unite with the anti-totalitarian socialists of such as myself who wouldnt mind small unexploitative markets operating alongside socialism in a manner that can be regulated by the consumer as the liberals intended.
:
: Markets, by definition, are regulated by the consumer.
Ah, but they arent are they? Look away from theory to reality for one second and you will find that markets have been replaced by corporates benefiting form both monopoly and benefits of scale measures reducing the amount of impact consumers can have and operating a kind of mock competition.
:In a socialist system, the market is run by the government, not by the consumer.
Hmmm, that's not exactly how I'd define socialism now, it is more than a planned economy you know, I'd even go as far to say that the planned economy factor is a bit irrelevent this all came about from a very ignorant interpretation of socialism as statism and has more to do with Bismarck than any socialist.
:All socialist systems will become totalitarian, at least until they fall under their own weight.
That is a bit of a prophetic generalisation there, check.
