Politicians Logic.

Lark got pissed at me a while back for saying he was using 'politicians loigic' by which I actually meant a specifically formulated logical fallacy.

1:Capitalism is terrible.
2:We must do something.
3:Organizing all Revolutionary groups into a vanguard is something.
4:therefore we must organise all revolutionary groups into a vanguard.

Simple, huh?

But wait

1:Capitalism is terrible.
2:We must do something.
3:Masturbating furiously while whistling the 'White Cockade' version of 'The Red Flag' is something.
4:Therefore we must masturbate furiously while whistling the 'White Cockade' version of 'The Red Flag'.

Both are equally valid, i.e. both are equally flawed.

1:Capitalism is terrible.
2:We must take teh correct action to solve the situation.
3:Therefore....

All we need to do is fiund teh right solution. Doing 'Something' is pointless: people climb trees, start riots, kick the shit out of yuppies, makes them feel better, but its utterly pointless. We have to do the one, the bravest thing: stop, think, decide what is the best, or even right, thing to do- and then do it. Its p[ainful, frustrating, annoying, but its what we have to do.

'Something, anything' solves nothing.
