I think you would find much in common between America, Europe and Fascism (even very libertarian writers tend to increasingly call our current situ what it is - an uneven mix of fascism, socialism and quasi-free markets.)
A common feature of fascism is to 'allow' liberty within a set of highly restrictive regulations. In this sense Stalin and Hitler were more fascist, and the US joins that brigade with every new law.

Not really a strong argument for it. Better to focus on it being the private ownership of goods in contrast to the many systems for collective ownership (whether directly in socialism, or held by a collective body in statism) and building upon this - the basis for indivual liberty.
