: SDF: Here I imagine a system where everyone is allowed to choose what sort of parents they would like to be raised by.Here in lies the "tough luck" factor. That someone born to parents of lower economic standing is disadvtanged (and to step onver into politically incorrect territory - that they might have genetics less conducive to 'success'). The contention of chosen relationships does not extend to the impossible - as liberal 'egalitarians' might try to create. The libertarian position would be to say "I may choose to help" rather than have a 3rd party decide you must 'help'.
Infact that kind of egalitarianism, which must reduce some peoples choices in order to increase others, is distinctly anti-choice and very authoritarian.
: But this doesn't necessarily mean that you are governed by any dictatorship -- in fact, you might be constrained thusly under a completely fair and democratic government, or under no government at all for that matter.
The 'tough luck' factor. There being no original sin in being born into a rich family, or a poor one, there is no guilt or unchosen obligation from one to the other. To try and forcibly moderate this is to, by necessity, implement a tyrrany.

I am open to many ideas, but with stateless socialism I see a system that can only work with the continued every day agreement of a vast majority. See my response to RD.
