By investing. Examples:

I employ a government to exercise my international interests. I invest time and money to ensure that my government is successful. This is one reason why I protested against the Sandanistas.

I maintain a small savings, and lend money out to friends that might use it to improve their lot, and who are dependable enough to pay it back. I have suffered a net monetary loss, but have achieved some significant success in my aims. Those friends that succeed frequently become significantly more valuable friends, and their dependability becomes a more tangible entity. Those that don't teach me valuable lessons. As Franklin said, 'Lend a friend five dollars and lose it, and you can count the exchange a bargain.' As in, better to learn a five dollar lesson than one far more costly.

I am a purchaser, an avid consumer. I am well aware of the power of my patronage, and shop in such a way as to support those enterprises I value. Of course, I also endeavor to avoid giving aid to any business concern I wish not to flourish. This is why I help the poor people I know, but donate not a dollar to more 'organised' liberal and 'pseudo-socialist' programs.

Is this helpful?
