I would agree with that premise, many people have shared goals and interest - however the fact that resources are scarce means people invariably (even through minor differences) desire to see resources used in different means. in pursuit of this people will try to affect that change either by creating value equal to it, or by forcing it to happen.

Where interest is shared outcomes are efficient (beneficial to all), where it is not the resolution can lie with a moral and practical premise of private property (justice being 'you reap what you sow' with all the additions of accident of birth & nature) or with force (whether by majority or whatever) - ive gone into this in another post.
