: That basis is the removal of force from human relations.

*Evidence? --K

Capitalism is not about business using political favour, its not about imperialism (thats collectivist). Its simply the result of individual liberty - the right to freedom from the coercion of others and the right to own your own thoughts and the material results of that thinking.

*Evidence?

America, or any western economy, is not Capitalist but mixed, compromised and rotten. It never fails to amaze me that so many people are set against individual liberty!

*I just knew you would trip up here. Who is "dead set against liberty?" We may have a different, more inclusive and social POV for what constitutes "Liberty" than you have. You seem to be very much in love with the sound of words like "liberty" and "freedom" without bothering to examine any of the unpleasant aspects that go with any political-economic system predicated on greed and a cult of individualism. Sure, Michael Eisner and I are both free to put our pants on one leg at a time... but the similarities end there. His "freedoms and liberties" and mine diverge. And as Bakunin pointed out, "Freedom" is merely "privelege," unless enjoyed by one and all. --K

: There is a site (for those interested) specifically about capitalism which also contains a message board. Its on www.capitalism.org. Dispel those myths!

*Is this where you obtained such a cutting edge critique of the capitalist economic system? The only "myths" I see are the ones reproduced in your post... the myth of a capitalism devoid of any unpleasantries. Somehow, the idea of sitting around and posting about how wonderful capitalism is... and how any undesirable element is merely "...mixed, compromised and rotten..." capitalism and not the pure, pristine "Robinson Crusoe" capitalism you have formed in your minds' eye, doesn't sound like too much fun.

However, in the spirit of the offer, I will have a look. I too would like to invite anyone interested in Left politics and Freethought to my modest little pages at Krasnaya's Critical Mass... check out the discussion forum... just added. --K
