: That basis is the removal of force from human relations. Capitalism is not about business using political favour, its not about imperialism (thats collectivist). Its simply the result of individual liberty - the right to freedom from the coercion of others and the right to own your own thoughts and the material results of that thinking. America, or any western economy, is not Capitalist but mixed, compromised and rotten. It never fails to amaze me that so many people are set against individual liberty!

: There is a site (for those interested) specifically about capitalism which also contains a message board. Its on www.capitalism.org. Dispel those myths!

: McSpotlight: Is it individual liberty to kill anyone you don't like?

cm: Or it is an individual liberty to live rich, not caring that there are millions of people in our world who don' t know what to eat nor how to survive the next day?? -- Aren' t we all responsible for each other and have to share our properties with the less fortunative ones (and a lot of countries just have brought so - calles "developing countries" in the bad situation they are in right now - whether through owning and so robbing them in earlier times (colonies) or trough telling them (and forcing them through war, e.g.) how to live - - where has the individual freedom been in those times!!
