Marx, Capital vol II (International edition, 1967), chapter vi, part 2, p. 134, states that the social division of labor ('book-keeper, clerks, and the like') increases the constant and fixed portion of capital, which, as previously stated, puts new pressures upon the variable portion of the capital (worker's wages). The growth of 'white collar' work---as constant capital---must pressure the variable capital (production wages), according to Marx's system, hence 'exploitation.'
