: Stoller: Funny, you mention two socialist states that were elected as well as easily overthrown by capitalist interests. See any correlation there?

Yes and the God Lenin was so capable with his blessed regime of preventing it being overthrown/hijacked by Stalin, that is if you dont think that they where synominous from the start as I do.

: There's a world of difference between a recently liberated FEUDAL / PEASANT nation experiencing 'bourgeois democracy' for the first time (such as Russia in 1917) and an OLD CAPITALIST nation that has experienced 'bourgeois democracy' for CENTURIES (such as the U.S. IN 2000). Tactics are different for these two very different historical situations. One set of people believe in such things as polls and elections; the other has learned to know better.

One is a bit wise to the feebleness of a state trying to bring about socialism the other is not, one is aware that socialism has to be by aswell as for the people the other thinks that whatever the vanguard, leader, state says goes.

: There WERE similarities between Russia and the two South American countries, similarities outlined above.

: The difference between the Bolsheviks and the two elected socialist countries in South America, however, is that the Bolsheviks were able to defend their state whereas the two South American states were not.

Yet when it came to defending it from Stalin they wherent able to. Maybe the ruskies wherent subject to the same kind of onslought as in the two other countries, I cnat stand your veneration of the fucking trot government, like it was just perfect and without fault, learn from history or repeat it.

: Conclusion: socialists need more than ballots, they need fire-power and people willing to fight for socialism. Ultimately, that's what decides success or failure in the world arena.

Right Stroller, I'm going to take you at face value here, how many guns, explosives and trained instructors have you? What's your support like? Are the people in your workplace, community, police, army and state legislator with you? Do you have plans made of the local services and service personnel for strategic purposes? Are you going to embark on a protracted battle, a war of attrition, or do you think that you'll have a three day insurrection?

You dont need to be a military genious to know that your not prepared for a revolution, you talk the talk you dont walk the walk, I've read DIY revolution plans (I'm not talking the anarchist cookbook either, the swiss civil defense plans for citizens militias are a good place to start) and war plans (UDA, IRA Officials/Stickies, Provo's and Continuity) and can only conclude that it is far more easy to seize power through a cultural or social coup than through some violent fantasy.
