To think anyone would give up a power structure

: To think that the capitalist class would surrender its domination of society peaceably because it lost a vote reflects a confidence and trust in the honor and sense of fairplay of a class enemy that has absolutely no basis in history and would set the proletariat up for disastrous consequences. The whole history of the capitalist class is characterized by ruthlessness, treachery, violence, unfairness, manipulation, repression, etc. The working class must enter into its historic confrontation with capitalism with that understanding of its adversary or it will face certain destruction.

To think anyone would give up a power structure they control without fighting is unrealistic. It is not capitalists who attempt to keep hold of what they have, it is people.
