: The petit-bourgeoisie will never create a revolution against capitalism. They're too busy working their way up it. Forgive me if I'm making an assumption here, but I do have a problem with those who wag their fingers at the so-called petit bourgeoisie, and anyone else who's not wealthy (call them what you will) who aren't interested in revolution or reshaping society because they're supposedly too busy trying to get theirs. The truth is that for most everyone besides the filthy rich, trying to get theirs, and provide for theirs, is an all-consuming task. It doesn't leave much time to engage in political activism or study up on the finer points of socialism. Most people are trapped in a system where their savings are meager and their debts tremendous, and what little free time they have is devoted to recombobulating after a long day's work and a miserable commute, so maybe instead of reading up on old Karl, they'll watch "Friends" or play with their kids.
It's a Catch-22: the system needs to change; change requires effort; but the system sucks all the time and energy out of you, leaving very little of both for the effort needed to make the change needed to give you more time and energy. Sucks, don't it?
