I haven't read it but I thought some folks here would appreciate it.The Land War in Ireland is an example of how an unorganised but popular violent struggle can really scare the ruling and imperial classes shitless, I do enjoy the characturisations of the Irish rebels from around about then, not because I'm not aware of the seriousness of the matter (the Irish Famine was, if not artifically created, then artificially maintained and comparable to the Jewish Holocaust if you ask me), but because at the base of it is the idea the irish are stupid, the ruling and imperial classes wherent saying that in 1920 when they where negotiating a withdrawal.
