Pete ages ago you said to me that we're faced with the position that anyone can debate capitalism but what can we do about it?It's simple unionize, support other unionizations, support left-wing electoral candidates and write them letters every day they're in office, even write hate mail to the conservatives if they get elected, support empowerment movements from the disabled to those with unpopular lifestyles but most importantly of all when you see or hear someone mouthing off like Frenchy, especially if they are convinced that what they are saying is rational and real and everything else is nonsense, put in an alternative view and make sure an alternative view is heard.
As to Barry and co. they havent been doing much other than debating and by that I mean sectarian free for all's in which everyone who doesnt aspire to some predetermined plan is a traitor and traitors deeserve to be starved or shot etc. yes that's all very free that.
What Barry advocates is a form of authoritarian ultra egalitarianism but shit is still shit if you spread it thin and a system that disempowers and alienates, puts ideology before individual and social welfare, isnt and never will be Socialism.
