Regarding the consumer participation mentioned above, I expect that there would be state agencies which monitor medical care, etc., etc. in the socialist future. Of course, as I have repeatedly pointed out before, state functions will be held equally by all citizens. One of the things a state is necessary for---as the utopians fail to understand---is to provide such tasks as monitoring social goods and services, quality control if you will.
