Harare, Zimbabwe (PANA) - In an unusual move, Zimbabwe's witch doctors said
Thursday they had opened a school to teach the "art" of African traditional
medicine.
The school, located in the heart of Harare, is headed by Prof. Gordon
Chavhunduka, a former vice chancellor of the University of Zimbabwe and current
leader of the Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers' Association, the umbrella
body of the country's witch doctors.
He said the school, which was affiliated to the association, had opened with an
initial enrolment of seven students studying for a one-year certificate course in
traditional medicine.
Chavhunduka, a sociologist, is a strong advocate for the restoration and
preservation of the pre-eminence of African traditional medicines and knowledge.
More 'progress' in the minds of some.
Duh.
None.
