Good post, I love well crafted satire. Don't short-change yourself to any of the genius'on this board.

I've told essentially the same story, but about my dad, who came here from another country. Couldn't speak english. Went to work for someone else, worked two jobs, eventually established his own business as a carpenter; he built single family houses on speculation. Brought up a family of 7.
The response from the intellectual power houses? 'Oh, Frenchy, that's so lame, your dad, how gauche. Are you really that unsophisticated? You simply don't operate at the same level we do, we're educated, we don't entertain mere anecdotes."
Let's see what they do with your experiences. It'll be fun.
