: BUT you attempt to posit these two isolated artisan producers as the apotheosis of CAPITALIST virtue and hard-work---which they CANNOT do because they are NOT capitalists. This has probably been covered to death, but please tell me: What is a capitalist, and from where does your definition come?
My dictionary defines a capitalist as "an investor of capital in business" and capital as "a. Wealth in the form of money or property, used or accumulated in a business by a person, partnership, or corporation, b.Material wealth used or available for use in the production of more wealth, c.Human resources considered in terms of their contributions to an economy."
These guitar makers used their resources (time, materials, garage) to produce wealth in the form of guitars. They seem, at least by these definitions, to be capitalists.
So, what is your definition of a capitalist and why is your definition appropriate? (Not to imply that it isn't. I genuinely want to know.)
None.
