Co-ops: the illusion of autonomy

As SDF intelligently noted a while ago, co-operatives---although bringing the means of production under worker control---must play by the same market rules that capitalists do; subsequently , many co-operatives must impose the same harsh 'capitalist' conditions upon themselves simply to stay in business.

Same with intentional communities, of course.
