: I'm really interested because being guided by principles and the political will rather than stone tablets if Green Keynesianism fails,SDF: Lark, "Green Keynesianism" is a contradiction in terms. Keynesian economics is based upon belief in the efficacy of the Multiplier Effect, upon the idea that a government-initiated increase in spending can justify itself by increasing the circulation in money and prompting the EXPANSION OF PRODUCTION to meet that increase in circulation so as to avoid inflation, and so as to meet some definitions of "prosperity." Keynesians definitions of prosperity thus notoriously do NOT calculate the environmental costs of the expansion of production. There was a time and place for taking Keynesianism seriously -- neither of these is here or now. Greens do NOT favor the expansion of production for its own sake -- production for Greens is a matter of improving human existence and then of getting "out of the way". Marxists recognize the folly of the current crisis of overproduction, millions of everything and millions of people who can't afford any of it.
Most importantly, Keynesians trust in a system where the political activist need not do anything, since according to their philosophy wise government application of the multiplier effect (i.e. a steady, not-too-high-not-too-low, increase in the money supply) will result in economic optimism and prosperity for all. Keynesianism is thus an endorsement of government by financial elites. Greens OTOH believe in community-based economics, and grassroots democracy.
Let's try to avoid utopias that condone the dictatorship of the owning classes, or money.

SDF: Your open-mindedness will be useful to you if you apply yourself to a theoretical and realistic assessment of what can be done. The question I think you need to look at is one regarding the RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PEOPLE and its domination by MONEY under capitalism.
