: I really dont know why some socialists think there is a socialist way of doing everything and try to make every aspect of life a socialist matter, would you appreciate it if capitalists interfered with family life etc. demanding that this or that is the correct and only way of doing things?Since you're responding to MY post, perhaps I should repeat what I said:
I agree UNCONDITIONALLY with all of [Marcos' imperatives]---except I personally would soften the morality section a bit---as I recall Engels approving of permanent love matches providing both lovers were economically independent. (Obviously day care centers, laundries, dining halls, etc. should be ubiquitous...).
Or would YOU dismiss the call for ubiquitous day care centers, laundries, dining halls, etc. as mere 'dogma'?
Calling a good idea a dogma is a handy scare tactic, isn't it?
Let's consider your remark again:
[W]ould you appreciate it if capitalists interfered with family life etc.
Like they DON'T?
Ever heard of day care that's UNAFFORDABLE? Ever heard of short maternity leaves? Ever heard of EXORBITANT health care costs? Ever heard of shitty HMO care?
Believe me, the capitalist HAS interfered PLENTY in family life.
: In the end you'll have to impose it and then it isnt freedom. Leave that whole sphere out of the argument.
Freedom for the bourgeoisie IS NOT freedom for the proletariat.
Or couldn't you tell?
