It was a US senator from Vermont, no longer in office, who led
the fight to have foam phased out of McD because of landfill problems.
Paper packaging need not involve tree destruction. Old leaves,
cotton, rice, can make packaging. Cotton paper books last hundreds
of years whereas wood paper books do not last a century.
