McDonalds that close down - Not rare enough

I was wondering does anyone know why a McDonalds would close their doors? I am writing from Perth Australia and there was a Macs that used to be one of the first here (ten years ago - approx) that was situated near a coastal town of Mandurah south of Perth on the road(old road now) that used to lead straight into Mandurah off the Highway. It lasted only a few years (guess) before shutting up shop and never to be replaced in Mandurah.
I am not complaing, I am just a little perplexed as to why one of the bastions of free enterprise and exploitation would choose to shut its doors. Surely no McDonalds Family Restaurant would ever lose money? Their exploitation of children (and foolish parents), they were one of the first to give stupid plastic toys away with their shitty little burgers to get the kids in so that Mom + Pop would follow.If anyone knows what happended to this eatery (as esoteric a request as it is) i would be interested to know.
