Recently, animal rights activists have discovered a new tactic for posting slogans on targeted buildings in the DC area. If there is anything more sensitive to harassment than McDeath, it is a fur shop. Yet, slogans frosted into the windows of Miller's Furs in DC have stayed up for WEEKS! Evidently they have decided that leaving "Fur Hurts!" up hurts lesss than the bill for a new window
This has many applictions to other targets, such as McDonalds. How is this done? It's done with hydroflouric acid, which is used for etching and marking laboratory glassware. The resulcan be mistaken for paste painted on the glass-until they try to wash it off. You brush it on just like paint-but remember, the other thing hydroflouric acid etches is human flesh, so carry a water bottle for emergencies and dn't let ANY of it get on you. In this case rubber gloves not only prevent fingerprints but also chemical burns-which could constitute evidence."Frosty the glassman had an overfilling cup
so he got a brush and some acid too and he put his slogans up"

McSpotlight: Ditto to that warning, folks. Hydroflouric acid is just about _the_ most vicious mineral acid around - concentrated, it will dissolve flesh very quickly. A more common acid used in general etching is nitric acid. So do it if you want (it's your choice!), but be very very careful if you value your fingers.
Oh and always acid to the water when diluting acid - adding water to acid can result in the acid suddenly boiling over the container. So add small amounts of acid to water until you have the desired concentration.
