Maybe that
: was harsh No, it was gloating, and to be frank, I have no clue as to what happened with CNN. Maybe someone put a gun to someone else's head and the story was forcibly "retracted."
I'd like to hear a plausible journalistic motive for creating "untrue" atrocities about America's war against Vietnam, or this fiction called "South Vietnam" (the US chooses Diem, the Communists choose Ho), when there were so many real ones to choose from. Read any chapter of Wallace Terry's BLOODS, for instance. Read about My Lai. Read about OPERATION PHOENIX, about the interrogation camps and tiger cages and such.
Now did they really need nerve gas to be atrocious in Laos in whenever atrocious nerve gassing they supposedly did? The CIA could have just told the NVA of their location, or whatever, if it were deemed in high places that these "deserters" were to become war casualties.
I'll post a list of my favorite Vietnam books at the top. Go ahead, continue to denounce me. I don't care -- if you have this special love for meaningless ad hominem forensic denunciation, you can continue to embarrass yourself. I'll rate it "B" for boring.
None.
