::First off, I never have and never will own a handgun. My experience with them came when I accompanied a gun-owning friend to the firing range to see what it was all about. And you misunderstood me when I spoke of the link between guns and sex.

To teach them how to responsibly handle a weapon. I learned from a seasoned law enforcement officer exactly what guns are and what they do at that firing range and I've taught my two sons the same lessons. The left has no recourse in their futile yet determined struggle to rid the world of guns but to characterize me and the vast majority of safe, law abiding gun owners as you did in your first post - sexaully attracted to weapons. What a dark and filthy mischaracterization of people, M. You should be ashamed of that.
I will reserve the right to bitterly object to any strategy that assumes that I, my grandfather, my father, or my sons have any capacity to find ourselves in a situation where our weapons are used irresponsibly. We will leave that kind of behavior for criminals.

That's hilarious! I suppose your average fluffy bunny wouldn't brandish a Glock 9mm if he had the bucks to buy one and the opposable thumbs to use it. Ever hear of natural selection? I'll remember the cougar's dwindling habitat right before I stop him from killing a family member.

All that proves is that certain people break the law. It doesn't prove any inherent culpability on the part of any gun, however. Gun control won't change the heart of a man that would point and fire a gun at another human being in anger. Only swift and direct punishment will moderate the actions of such a man.
The coddling of the criminal class has only expanded the criminal class. Guns have been a part of this culture since day one but the escalation of violence in our culture has only increased in recent years with the advent of liberalism in our justice system. When punishment was the focus, the crime rate was much lower. Someone please refute that because I would hate to be seen as one who might actually want justice served to murdering thugs. That would be so insensitive of me and decidedly unchristian.
