As it has already been explained, women of the Islamic faith wear a headwrap or scarf to cover their hair to avoid enticement based on physical appearence. This is also a Christian custom. Christian woman, however, are instructed to cover their hair when entering the House of the Lord. If they so choose, they may cover their hair at any other time as a practice of modesty.
