If their parents are decent people, and there is no evidence of cruelty, which there isn't, in the case of Elian, then children deserve and need their parents and parents deserve and need their children. It is evil to deny them that right, which is central to our (human) society. A woman flees with her son, becasue life is hard in Cuba because of the US embargo, at least allow the father to keep his son. Anything else is cruelty, and the height of hypocrisy from a nation that regards itself as the most civilised on this planet!!!
