But Lark, my point earlier was that your recognition of homosexuals is based on your perception that serious flamers are the only types of homosexuals. If you can only recognize people as homosexual when they dress or act as "hedonistic trippers," then of course it's going to appear to you that they all are.
Let me put it another way. If I go into an Irish pub, and if that is the only place where I ever ask about people's national origins, it's going to look to me like all Irishmen are drinkers. If I never recognize a man as Irish, except when I see him in the pub, it's going to seem, to me, that ALL Irishmen are drinkers. You are doing the same thing with homosexuals. The only ones you know to be homosexual are the ones that fit your image of homosexuals as being hedonists. You don't know of any non-hedonistic homosexuals because you define homosexuality as hedonism. Therefore anyone who has sex with a member of his/her own gender, but does not appear to be a hedonist to you will not be recognized as homosexual by you. IOW, you are defining homosexuality in a way that has nothing to do with sexual behavior. Your definition seems to be based on graffiti, marching, clothes, and general appearance, none of which are exclusive to homosexuals, and none of which are universal among homosexuals. The conceptual class you have labeled "homosexual" is, at best, only tangentally related to sexual behavior, and therefore your critique is misplaced.
If hedonism is what bothers you, fine, argue against that. Argue in favor of puritanism. If graffiti in the gents' room is the problem, work on getting your local to paint their W.C. with graffiti resistant paint or tiles. If it's marching that gets your temperature up, complain about marching in general, rather than pride marches in particular. Homosexuality, per se, has nothing to do with your complaints. I advise re-directing your critique towards what is really bothering you, bro.
