Well, education for heterosexists is, I think, the best approach. I've consistently found it nearly impossible to intimidate someone out of a bad idea, but quite easy to explain why the idea is bad. If we go about telling everyone that disagrees with us that they are evil racists, they'll just turn off the monitors after a while and the message goes nowhere. If, instead, we can remain calm, rational, and non-agressive, the chances of transmitting the message are much better. "Tolerance" is a part of that. So, yes, tolerance for heterosexists, but no tolerance for heterosexism. Does that make my point more clear? I hope so.
