Certainly not those such as yourself trying to convince a sceptical audience.: Gideon, I've been wondering what your background is since our exchange about the existence of god some weeks ago. Are you a philosopher by vocation, or a professional scientist, or do you just make this stuff up as you go along?
Space and climate physicist by training; currently working in the computer industry; but I was exposed to a lot of philosophy whilst at university; logic, epistemology and metaphysics, philosophy of science and the like. Some of it I argue on the hoof, but much of it is based on the works of people like Popper, Russell and Wittgenstein.
