: You are always going to have ethical dilemmas if you want to eradicate certain diseases, I think animal testing is terrible but until Genome technology (that is provided it stays in the public realm and all the lazy ass americans who want to patent it and grow rich and fat of it's use got get their way) can produce molecular test subjects nothing is going to change.: While animal testing is wrong, even for medical purposes, I think it's more progressive, or humane, or civilised, or whatever, than testing on humans.
: That said cosmetic testing is unjustifiable.
Thank god for Pandora then, Lark, because she gave us hope. Regarding medical testing of animals: reduce, refine, replace. I'm confident that scientific progress will eliminate animal testing faster than the animal rights movement (unless I acquire superhuman powers, in which case, watch out). Ultimately, people are always the last guinea pigs, and scientists know that; if they share my goals, but for different reasons, then more power to them (uh oh, there I go again, making common cause with the Devil).
