Now THIS is juicy. Yes, I was well aware of the barbaric Aztec sacrifice rituals and the displacements of north amercian tribes by other native american aggressors, and I don't completely doubt the veracity of some of the more violent accounts of native northern americans, but, again, I question the accuracy of these accounts as a general portrayal of native north american cultures - not that you personally are submitting them as such, but I suspect that the authors of this document, as well as several others on this site, might like like to create that impression.

I didn't realize that there was such a heated scholarly debate on this subject. I find it very interesting to say the least. I'd like to know what these so-called "politically correct historians" are saying in response to these grotesque accounts of native american culture. Is it really just outright denial of all of them as this article claims? That's a pretty dramatic counter. Essentially both sides are calling each other LIARS. Is one side bending the truth more than the other? It seems we are being manipulated at both ends of this spectrum. Its very frustrating....and yet, I'm amused.
