Yeah I know about this, I know some Masons too, one insists the free Masons and Masons are seperate on being a religious/occult order the other an elitist old boys network. The religious one says no one progresses bound level 8, no one really, level 33 being comparable to a Christ like state or something.
I think it is similar to the juedo-christian majik of the Qabala and it's ranks of knowledge and self awareness etc. the paranormal aspect doesnt spook me, the implications of an organised and exclusive class of people exercising power does.
