Of course, I don't personally agree with trying to justify behaviour using the Bible, since there are many solid scientific arguments you could use without resorting to mumbo-jumbo.

In the political arena it doesn't always mean the opposite and you know this. Why wouldn't the Democratic National Convention let a pro-life Democratic governor speak at its convention a few years ago? Because the liberal agenda demands a certain set of beliefs.
